Therapy for Adults and Adolescents
I am not accepting new therapy clients at this time.
Sometimes life throws us challenges that we don’t yet know how to meet. If you are viewing this page, it may be because you or your adolescent is in such a place. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with learning new coping skills to meet life’s challenges. Coping skills include, for example, 1) strategies to get you unstuck from thinking traps, 2) actions and habits that help you deal better with your challenges, 3) relaxation techniques, 4) problem-solving strategies that help you become more aware of yourself so you can adjust flexibly to new situations.
I specialize in treating mood and anxiety disorders, as well as problems with stress management, in adults and adolescents. My approach is a compassionate one that prompts clients to draw on existing skills and resources while learning new tools to approach challenging situations and the emotions they stir up. The work tends to be goal-oriented, highly focused, and brief.
If this sounds like an avenue of treatment that you would like to explore, please call me at (925) 324-1593. We can discuss your situation further by phone and set up a time to meet in person. I have offices in Walnut Creek and Berkeley.
I accept Medicare and am out-of-network for all other insurance plans. I am happy to provide you with a super bill which you can submit to your insurance company if out-of-network service is covered in your plan. Please call to discuss fees. I do provide a sliding scale.
